Tour de Hoot 2009 Video

The second annual Tour de Hoot bicycle tour was held in McGehee on Saturday, May 30, 2009.  This year a total of 122 riders from 4 states participated to raise money for the McGehee Boys and Girls club.    The rest stops were awesome with delicious snacks. A great time was had by all.   Special thanks to Jordan Robinson for preparing this video!  And a big thank you to everyone who helped make the ride such a great success!  Plans are already underway for next year's "Hoot".

Friday, June 26 at 7 a.m.

McGehee Farmers’ Market – Several area residents are currently serving on a Committee to form the McGehee Farmers’ Market.   Committee members are:  Linda Clary; Mayor Jack May; Robert Moore; Carolyn Blissett; Doc Bilberry; Jane Lucky; Bob Ware; J.W. Lehman; Wes Kirkpatrick; Lynn Bliss; and, Eugene Gilliam.  Approximately a dozen potential vendors have expressed interest.  Items that would potentially be available for purchase at the downtown Farmers’ market include vegetables, herbs, flowers, art and crafts.  Interested?  Contact Linda Clary, (870) 222-9844 or email:  lsclary21@yahoo.com  The next meeting will be held Wednesday, May 6, at 12 noon at the McGehee Municipal Building.

McGehee Industrial Foundation Dinner & Auction, Thursday, June 4– The Annual McGehee Industrial Foundation Dinner & Auction will be held Thursday, June 4, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $15.   The Foundation is currently accepting donations for the Live and Silent Auctions.  If you have item(s) to donate, or wish to purchase tickets, please contact Doc Bilberry, (870) 222-8315.  Cash donations are always appreciated.

Third Annual McGehee Owlfest scheduled October 16 – 17, 2009 – the Third Annual McGehee Owlfest will be held in downtown McGehee October 16 – 17, 2009.  Activities include FREE children’s activities; Saturday night street dance; musical entertainment; talent show; golf tournament (raising money for the Owl Touch Down Club); Chef Jamie cooking demonstration; BBQ Team Competition; Youth Owl Hoot competition; Razorback Tailgate Party (Arkansas vs Florida) with big-screen televisions and food; vendors and crafts.  Owlfest 2009 T-shirts, Hoodies, Visors and Caps are NOW ON SALE….
