The
McGehee Industrial Foundation sponsors an annual BBQ
and auction in June to raise money for industrial
development, and at the same time offers entertainment,
good food and community camaraderie.
The I.B.in M. (I Believe in McGehee) Theater annually
sponsors traveling exhibits and performances from the
Southeast Arkansas Arts and Science Center in Pine
Bluff. These exhibits are presented not only to the
general public, but if the entertainment warrants, to
school children, who either walk from their school or
are bused to the theater. They are under the direction
of the Boys and Girls Club of McGehee
Other Special Events include the Desha County Fair, City
Beautification projects by volunteers, and an annual
Awards Banquet and Christmas Parade sponsored by the
McGehee Chamber of Commerce. |
