Agriculture is the main source of income in McGehee.
Cotton, rice, soybeans, wheat, grain sorghum, cattle and
catfish are the main agricultural products. Recently,
crawfish have been introduced on to the agricultural
market. There are two cotton gins, two grain dryers, one
rice mill, grain storage and a federal compress in
McGehee.
The Bunge Corporation on the Mississippi River provides
grain marketing services. Producers Rice Mill also ships
grain via the Mississippi River. The Yellow Bend Port
recently opened for shipping services. The port provides
cost-efficient shipping in and out of port, using a
40-ton overhead crane as well as a conveyor system.
There are one hundred retail businesses in McGehee.
Total sales amount to over $15,000,000.00. Major
industries include
Potlatch Forest Products Corporation,
a bleached paperboard mill with employment of 350
persons; McGehee Industries, hospital garment
manufacturing with employment of 35 persons; Star Paper
Tube, cardboard paper tube core manufacturing with
employment of 5 persons.

publication which can be bought at news stands or on the street. The paper
